Happy Spring!
As spring is on its way, we are excited to share with you all the happenings in China with Hope Outreach! One such story is about Debbie.
She has been a part of the Home of Hope Orphanage almost since the beginning. She moved out and desired to become a kindergarten teacher. The reason we are so proud of her is she never let others define her. when she was in primary school, most of her teachers didn’t understand her and just thought she was a terrible student, lazy even. But she tried harder than any child, studying longer and harder than most. Homework and tests and the like were incredibly difficult for her and she barely passed her classes.
She kept on though, graduated and went onto college where she would become one of the top students in English. Debbie is now trying to get her masters degree in teaching English to kindergarten students. She has achieved so much and her self confidence is through the roof.
We are all so proud of the woman Debbie has become. We continue to provide her scholarships so she may continue her education. Her twin brother, Eddy, is also in college in Zhengzhou through the Hope Outreach scholarship program.
Back In The States
Happy Spring! This year has already been a blessed one! We meet weekly with our staff and hear wonderful things from them back in Pingyu. Glad for the time change as now we can meet them online at 7:00 am vs 6:00 am. With us being back in the states, Ben has taken the job of Youth Pastor at Grace Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois (our home church). I, Michelle, have now taken over more of the administrative responsibilities for Hope Outreach China (accounting, websites, and this nice newsletter). Together we lead and encourage our staff.
Shirley, Nicky, and Jessica, our staff, are in charge of the operations back in China. We are so proud of these young ladies stepping up and becoming the leaders of Hope Outreach China. They are in charge of the scholarship program (where we offer scholarships to students just like Debbie), tutoring students, guiding the older children on how to achieve success in their colleges, office work, keep up with all the requirements to keep our organization legal back in China, and so much more. They are our hands and feet and we are so proud of them.
